About a year ago, I embarked on a journey to build a BB8 that children in low-income schools could assemble and code. Using complex physics principles, I designed and 3D printed parts, excluding the circuit boards, which were coded and built from scratch. I utilized materials from my lab and resources I could acquire.

Upon completing the project, I came across a fellowship focused on leveraging design and innovation to make a positive impact on the world. Though unsure of what to apply for initially, the realization struck me while tweaking the code for my BB-8 that it aligned with the school curriculum. This realization prompted me to start my fellowship application, and due to the nature of the work, I can't divulge specific details.

In essence, I developed a kit version of a BB8, making it fully functional and even wrote instructions for students to build their own. With the goal of contributing to the community, I decided to donate this project to schools and low-income areas in need. After presenting my idea, I won the fellowship.
